A friend who was living in Maine collected some balsam fir branches from her forest, and sent them on. Pine from my wood’s edge, larch & fir, frankincense and secret botanicals waft a the scented mood of a quiet wintry forest. Fallen pine branches became hydrosol I distilled to form the dry ingredients into cones that look like conifer trees, dusted with powder.

use: I prefer lighting incense cones from a lit candle, using small tongs of tweezers. Matches expire too quickly. Light 1/8 – 1/4” below tip, hold for a minute, then set in an incense container. Let the flame go out by itself. You could take this opportunity to watch the flame transform into smoke and innerly express your feelings of reverence to the subtle worlds.
