Soliflores are portraits of a single aromatic material: a flower, wood, resin, etc., painted in aroma much as an artist paints a portrait, capturing the subject with a setting, enhancement, perhaps a twist, but definitely a recognizable point of view,.
Sheer Grace is a mouthwatering, cool vetiver, hovering at the edge between faintly moist and dry, with a crisp air and refreshing woody and peppery angles. It is clear, though, that vetiver is the main character, speaking with elegance and strength.
In former years I produced “Grace” a ritual oil perfume, as an expression of the year past. I decided to twist and expand the idea into a real perfume, in alcohol, and focus mostly on the vetiver aspect. Although I didn’t intend to, the final iteration reminds me of the original Annick Goutal ‘s Vetiver, my favorite last “conventional” perfume ever worn.
While sheer indeed, this perfume has wonderful tenacity and a beautiful soft projection. I like to layer it over Grace, for added depth.
