Incensum: Scent Work For Incense

Natural perfumery materials can greatly enhance incense you are making, but you can miss the mark without sufficient knowledge. Most often, simply adding essential oil or a blend isn’t sufficient for a truly beautiful fragrance, or effecting healing.There are many considerations involved, and various techniques to create layers of scent and work towards truly sacred, healing incense.

While some aspects of perfume formulation pertain, incense has its own unique needs and requirements depending on whether you want to scent burnable incense, pastilles or loose incense for the burner.

In this class we’ll work with some wood, resin and various aromatic extractions & learn some very special methods for adding scent.

Although the methods taught are advanced, you would find this class helpful in conjunction with the incense cone making class if you are a nimble learner.

Materials kit provided for some hands on work. A small 30 ml glass beaker would be helpful (not provided).
